Oh well... anyway, let's make long story short, eventually I did try to go see it. We went to the Golden Gate Bridge, because Pig was sooo sure that no matter how they secretly change the route, they had to go to the famous landmark. So there we were, waited for almost an hour, and nothing except enormous amount of cops, massive, the most I've ever seen. They all came at once on their motorcycles, it was some scene, which also deceived us. I stood there with a group of Chinese people who were very well prepared with two giant Chinese national flags and some Beijing 2008 Olympic flags. They waved and screamed hard. My heart was racing the whole time, thought I was actually going to see the torch... As a Beijing girl, I've always wanted to do something for this event. I guess that's all I could do --- just be there and be supportive. Even though I didn't get to see the torch, I still felt proud and excited. November 29 My Baby ShowerMy boss and my aunt AJ threw me a baby shower last Saturday, and it was a wonderful and an unforgetable day. Oh it was fun too, thanks to the games. Food was okay but that cake was soooo delicious!Usually they have the shower a month before the due day, but I wanted to wait until my parents were here, so I had it a week before. June 22 臭男人昨天是臭猪的生日，本命年过生日要好好庆祝一下啦，所以就拉他去他一直想去的 The Cheesecake Factory 吃了一大餐，
 而且还买了他一直说想要的礼物(一只Palm Treo的新手机)给他。结果呢，死猪臭猪就会扫兴！吃过晚餐，人家打开礼盒一看，然后对我说 (no thank you or anything )，“嘿，怎么没有给我买 Apple 的 iPhone 呀？” What the @#$%?! TNND, NXP...  p.s., 更加郁闷的一件事是，昨天发觉我的脚指豆可能有点儿发胖了，晚上回家发现起了两个小水泡，呃。。。。。。 May 30 Ultrasound我今天去UCSF做了第一次 Ultrasound， 看到了我们的“小猪Babe”，这一段心中的郁闷和不安一下子消失了。  看到那个小小的心跳，我差点哭出来。 虽然现在还没有任何感应，但是在电脑屏幕上看到这小东西还真不安省，动来动去，像是在蹦床上练太极拳呢。 出来后想了想，我还是个很自私的人。完全没有想说在看到这个可爱的小不点后就马上感觉最近受的苦头都是值得的；心中的不平衡还是隐约有一点。小小的这么个小肉球，搞得我面黄肌瘦，吃不香，睡不着的，真恨死了！ April 27 Morning SicknessSomething that I've just realized in these couple of weeks: Morning sickness is NOT just morning, or any period of the day. I hate it when I have to go pee every half an hour. I want to be able to eat again, I want to be able to sleep late in the morning and not worrying about having breakfast. I don't want to eat crackers anymore.
And I miss Starbucks.
  Happy thought: the baby is due on December, probably will have the same birthday as me.

Remember: Every day is Earth Day. 每天都是地球日。 March 30 [图文]补上个周末的活动佳嘉周末过了26岁生日，他请我们去San Jose的一家高档些的西式中餐厅Sino,  大吃了一餐。寿星公在研究吃什么好呢？  不掏钱的人就坐着等吃就行了。 往常这几位都是争着买单的，今天可以不用担心什么，只享受美食啦。第一道 appetizer 我没有吃，好像是牛肉什么的，不记得了。 看照片好像也看不出是个啥东东。  第二道是一碗香喷喷的辣 mussels, 我喜欢。 经过一个星期一个人的粗茶淡饭的日子，我可是好好的美餐了一顿。  尤其是那盘鱼香茄子，我的最爱！谢谢这个大公鸡啦。最后大家祝大公鸡生日快乐！  临走前门口合影，  第二天又一好事，我妹妹Hannah今年考高中，得到录取通知书，所有报的学校都录取了。她最后选定去一家高科技较强的私立高中 The Urban School of SF. 我带她去打保龄，庆祝一下。   当然保龄不能满足她啦，过两天还要我陪她逛街，买上高中的新衣服。因为终于不用穿校服了。March 27 我真白痴！（N星期前的事）我今晚又没有看Miami, 罪过  而且我也没有帮猪公录逃狱，24和Heroes,呃。。。。。。I am so in trouble, 希望他出差回来完全不记得这些不重要的东西。因为 NBC 出了一套新剧 The Black Donnellys，今晚和Miami同一时间播第一集，我想看看是怎么样。结果看了一半感觉一般。其实我也没有好好看，因为我一堆的旧杂志没有读，所以一半一半，脑袋一会向上一会向下，累死我了。半个小时候我转回CBS,但是完全不知道这集是在讲什么。 我还做了一件极愚蠢的事  在看电视又看杂志的同时，我突然很想涂指甲油在脚上，但是我最喜欢的颜色好想N年没有用，干掉了。正好被窝里有个热水袋，我“灵机一动”就把指甲油放在被子里了，我还感觉自己真是太聪明了呢。。。。。。愚蠢的事就产生了。。。。。。突然闻到一股味道，一掀被子，OMG... ... Now I am really really in trouble, so darn stupid!!!  Although, my newly painted toes look really pretty, LOL...LOL... March 19 Movie Night (last Friday)老公明天又要出差了，十多天，所以决定今天不管下班多晚，都去看电影。 结果我们从8点半一直看到夜里1点半，爽！！！很久没看了，很多新电影都落下了。我们俩都是movie buffs,以前基本上每个星期都去看，家门口就是旧金山最大的电影院。但是3年前搬家后，要开车10分钟才可以,真不方便。。。。。。嘻嘻嘻。 看了两场，他选一场 --- 300  ；我选一场 --- Zodiac  . 两个电影都不错，尤其是300。本来我一直都不想看，因为我万全不了解公元前400多年那段历史，而且对战争也没有什么大兴趣，觉得我一定会看睡着。但最后结果完全不一样，强悍勇敢的斯巴达勇士让我看得很兴奋！还有一件兴奋的事，在看Zodiac前，看了一个新预告片 -----Mr.Brooks  .是我喜欢的 Kevin Costner 主演，Marg Helgenberger （Cath）演他老婆（但是戏份应该不是很多），hohohohoho... 不能想象他们两个演两口子。我明天再来具体说吧，睡觉先了。(to be continued...) 继续啦。。。。。。电影300是由风格独特的"罪恶之城"漫画家Frank Miller的作品改编的，讲述的是发生在公元前480年的Thermopylae（希腊东部）大战。波斯国王Xerxes率领大军大举入侵希腊。斯巴达国王率领了300强悍勇敢的壮士杀入敌阵，顽强抵抗。这是一场300人对抗万人的力量悬殊之战，然而数万波斯强兵，却不能攻下Leonidas与300壮士用性命筑起的防守。即便以悲剧告终，斯巴达勇士的“荣誉，责任，光荣，作战和胜利”的信条依然感天动地。 Spartan King Leonidas: "We Spartans have descended from Hercules himself. Taught never to retreat, never to surrender. Taught that death in the battlefield is the greatest glory he could achieve in his life. Spartans: the finest soldiers the world has ever known."  饰演King Leonidas的是在The Phantom of the Opera电影版中扮演蒙面人的苏格兰演员Gerard Butler （很喜欢他在tpoto中的表演）。Butler表示，他出演这部电影是因为被希腊的斯巴达人与波斯人斗争的传奇历史所打动。 永别了。和Sin City这部电影一样，300的制作主要在室内完成。影片中大量采用电脑特技将实拍镜头处理成漫画效果，场面宏大，色彩唯美，整合出几近完美的虚拟历史场景。Sin City我一点也不喜欢，虽然大腕儿一堆，但是看了一半就晕过去了。300里的色彩除了血红外，以不同的黄为主，给我秋收的感觉，不管怎样是一种胜利的代表。  来说Zodiac吧，因为影片是关于一部真实的又没有结果的案子，整部电影感觉有点儿像纪录片。电影是根据San Francisco Chronicle（旧金山纪事报）里写漫画的Robert Graysmith事后写的畅销书  改编。故事所讲述的是在1969-1977间，旧金山市一带真实发生的一系列谋杀案，直至今天仍是一桩未完结的悬案。凶手自称为Zodiac， 作案完全属于随机主义，不分时间场合地点和受害者身份。而且，他居然主动邮寄带有密码的信件给各大报社，声称自己的真实身份就隐藏其中，公开向整个社会挑衅。 但是当密码被一一破解之后，出现的却是一些毫无头绪的线索。电影的另一部分是说报社里画漫画的Robert Graysmith如何对案子走火入魔，跟随报社记者Paul，旧金山侦探David深入调查并给与大量的帮助，最后挖出案子唯一的嫌疑犯Arthur Leigh Allen。但是因为事件发生在那个科技落后，没有DNA的时代，最终也无法将罪犯归案。剧照：Robert和侦探David   报社记者Paul和Robert。坐不住的人不宜看此片，总共长达近三小时，比较郁闷。片中花絮，看到三分之一处时，发现了一个背景错误。剧中情况是说Zodiac杀手要与电视主播在旧金山的邻市Daly City碰面，结果他们见面的地方居然是离我家20条街以外的一个中国超市（新世界超市）对面。我想60年代底这个超市肯定还没有开门呢，估计导演也没有想到有人能认出那个地方，哈哈哈。 March 01 迟来的奥斯卡[图文]本来早在另一个blog（现在blog巨多，都搞不过来了）里写了这篇，今天把它给搬家过来。
我的年一般是在奥斯卡结束后才感觉是真正过完了，2006正经是历史了，2007可以开始了。

 我刚刚看完，心情极好！不过感觉整个Ceremony从走红地毯到结束，近7，8个小时，好像是长了点儿。
中间 Apple iPhone 的广告是最好的！
我热烈的给 Ellen DeGeneres  鼓掌，虽然是有点儿low key, 但是主持的干净利落，轻快精巧，不落俗套。好像是将晚上的一个重大的典礼变成了她白天做的 Talk Show 一样，但这就是她的特点嘛。Love her forever   30年外加7次提名后，Martin Scorsese 终于拿到了最佳导演，just fantastic！！！  现在很累，明天再细说啦。  Helen Mirren looked gorgeous!! So Yum!!!P.S. 很气愤！！！报幕员在给“最佳改编剧本”解释时说The Departed是根据日本电影改编的 TNND！！！！！！
Babel 只得了一个小奖，很可惜！ 还有典礼结束后的 Barbara Walters’s special真是很Suck！她真该退休了，问的问题极其郁闷！！！呃。。。。。。还有她老人家穿的那件礼服，应该马上把她的 stylist 炒鱿鱼。 继续： Martin Scorsese熬了一辈子终于熬出来了，可是老头 Peter O'Toole  就没有那么好运，这晚后变成了8 times LOSER, poor guy, 估计是没有什么机会了，就等终身成就奖吧。资历这么深的空手而归，而从没有演过戏的 Jennifer Hudson  一举成名，什么奖都拿了。不知道老头 O'Toole 心里是个啥滋味儿。我反正挺替他酸的。不过他们俩的这两部电影我都还没有看呢，所以也不能决定。但是 common sense 的话，难道不是我们说的“姜还是老的辣”吗？哎。。。。。。我喜欢的一些台词：

 主持时的一句极好的台词："What a wonderful night, such diversity in the room, in a year when there's been so many negative things said about people's race, religion and sexual orientation. ... And I want to put this out there: If there weren't blacks, Jews and gays, there would be no Oscars. Or anyone named Oscar, when you think about that." LOL... LOL... "I was just backstage with Jack Nicholson and vice president Gore, drinking ... I don't think he's running for president." -- 啊。。。。。。George Clooney，So cute！！！ 在给Martin Scorsese颁奖前，没有拿过奥斯卡的星球大战导演George Lucas对另外两个大牌奥斯卡得主导演说："I just want to say that it's much better to give than to receive." 但是Francis Ford Coppola and Steven Spielberg完全反对： "No it's not." LOL... 我不是很喜欢Jerry Seinfeld  ，但是他颁奖前的那段 stand-up routine about movie theater etiquette真是太好笑了（虽然我不是很赞同他的说法，但搞笑归搞笑）： "I'm not picking nothin' up. I'm the one that threw it down. How many different jobs do I have to do here? There is an agreed upon deal between us and the movie theater people. It is understood by every single person in this room. The deal is, you rip us off on overpriced, oversized crap that we shouldn't be eating to begin with. In exchange for that, when I'm done with something, I open my hand. I'm not sticking my hand down into a dark hole, and trying to pry out three Goobers that have been soda-welded there since "The Shawshank Redemption," which is not a nominee this evening, but these five, incredibly depressing movies, are." LOL... LOL... LOL... 不知道奥斯卡会不会考虑让他来主持？Martin Scorsese  在接奖时也不忘幽默："Could you double-check the envelope?" LOL... LOL... LOL...这三个  的小musical也很给漫长的典礼增了些乐趣。说说Fashion吧：
在The Devil Wears Prada里的Meryl Streep和今晚的这个
 天壤之别，虽然她很“敬业”穿了Prada 的裙子，但整个这身简直有点儿不堪入目，好想出门赶集一样。 What the Devil got into Meryl?Abigail Breslin  很可爱！Jack Nicholson  的大光头真亮！整晚的焦点呀。Diane Keaton穿的也不错，没有往年那么夸张，而且没有带手套帽子一类的，谢天谢地！我最喜欢的晚礼服：  Only Nicole Kidman can put this off. They look just so gorgeous together, so yum!   And so are these two.   Oh I love these two colors.  话剧的Program,节目单  禁止任何拍照及录像，但是我还是在结束后偷拍了一张话剧布景。 很满足了，因为途中差点把票丢了。。。。。。 WP的演功真是太棒了，爱尔兰口音讲的也很纯正，我没有白花痴他。没有照片留念，就看看剧院拍的照片吧，更清楚；
 开始还以为坐在边上很倒霉，但没有想到他很多都是坐在这把边边小椅子上的戏，所以我留下了很多的 mental pictures；  William Petersen 演的 John 的女儿 Mary在谴责他做父亲和丈夫的种种“罪行”； John 劝告年轻的 Mark 不要做一个像他一样的人； 剧院外留影留念。很好笑的是整个剧院里只有我们两个“异形”，其他一色白种人，看到我们俩都很怪异的样子。

December 17 眼睛痛今天带Hannah去看了Charlotte's Web
 和Happy Feet  .看
 的时候我感动的基本上从头哭到尾，但是又怕Hannah看到，哭得很不爽，所以现在眼睛很痛。Wilbur 实在是很可爱  ，Charlotte 也太能干了  ，以后再看到蜘蛛不知道能不能做到不去打死它，现实生活中的蜘蛛为什么看上去就很想用纸按死的样子？ 以后需要努力想象 Julia Roberts 给 Charlotte  配音的声音可能就不会那么憎恨。除此之外还有很多熟悉的声音  Robert Redford 是一匹很怕蜘蛛，有点倔八头的马；  Superwoman Oprah 是一只话多的鹅妈妈； Steve Buscemia 是一只贪吃的老鼠 with a big heart though ； Kathy Bates 是一只和她本人一样好笑的奶牛； Dominic Scott Kay给Wilbur配音，他的声音很好听 。。。。。。 大家都应该去看  ，然后从此停止吃 ham and bacon, 嘻嘻嘻嘻嘻嘻嘻 December 14 Golden Globe Nominees

I can't stop laughing every time I see this picture... 发点儿牢骚：God damn it! I didn't go to tonight's lesson, didn't have the gut to call them either, just waited for them to call me, so I could make up something like "OMG... I completely forgot about this after about a month of cancelations." So goddamn laaaame... UGH! But what else could I say? I am out of "stories"... ... Well he was definitely disappointed and couldn't believe how it was even possible to forget something like this, it was like forgetting... umm... what fits here? What sort of things you can never possibly forget (fully dressed before walking out of the door)? I don't know, I could totally forget about this lesson anytime if I really want to. Anyway, I guess I was forgived since I didn't get fired, and he said he would call again to rearrange this lesson this weekend. I lost count of how many sorrys I've said during the call, it wasn't enough though, I could sense it. SHIT! FUCK!!! 我终于读完了 Ian McEwan (伊恩 麦克尤恩，英国小说家、剧作家) 的小说 Enduring Love (Gosh, 这本书在我书架上放了大概6年了)；读这种经典文学大作 (this book is regarded by many as a masterpiece) 还真费劲，但是感觉也不一样，还真有受益匪浅的滋味。书中主要描写了一个有 de Clerambault's syndrome 的病症 (又名Erotomania, a rare disorder in which a person holds a delusional belief that another person is in love with him/her) 的人Jed和主人公Joe间的故事。本来要开始读他去年的新作 Saturday, 但是刚读了一章就出现和 invasion of Iraq 有关的情节，一下子我就没有兴趣了。早知道应该选择据说他最好的作品 Atonement 了。 放下了Saturday, 马上又拿起了两个月前从 Adam 那里借来的 Eragon The End P.S. 忘记了，show 一些感恩节照片在下面 |

This year the nominations are truly GLOBAL (Morocco, Mexico, North and South Africa, England, Japan, Kazakhstan, Scotland, ancient Mayan ...)
"Babel," starring Cate Blanchett and Brad Pitt, led Golden Globe contenders with seven nominations including best dramatic picture and acting honors for Pitt. (Craig Ferguson joked tonight on his late night show, "7 noms for Babel, and that's also the number of how many people watched the movie", hahaha )
Martin Scorsese's film "The Departed," starring Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio was been nominated for best dramatic picture. DiCaprio also got a best dramatic film actor nod for the film and another nomination for "Blood Diamond." Scorsese was nominated as best director. (Matt didn't get any noms... sad... ) 
Clint Eastwood's World War II drama "Letters From Iwo Jima," featuring actors Hiroshi Watanabe, as Lt. Colonel Fujita, far left, and Ken Watanabe, center, as General Kuribayashi, was nominated for best foreign language film. Eastwood received two best director nods. (OMG, give someone else a chance, Mr. Clint, don't you think it's time for you to retire?) 
Helen Mirren was nominated for best dramatic movie actress for playing the current monarch in "The Queen," and for the title role in the TV miniseries "Elizabeth I." She was also nominated as best actress in a TV miniseries or movie for "Prime Suspect: The Final Act." (She's so brilliant, I hope she wins. I am also so ecstatic for Jeremy Irons, who costars with her in "Elizabeth I" as he got a nom for his role too, LOOOVE him.) 
"Bobby," the story of the assassination of Senator Robert F. Kennedy, on June 6th, 1968, which centers around the people who were at the Ambassador Hotel where he was killed was nominated as best dramatic picture award. (Surprised! This movie hardly got any good critics, what the heck!) 
Leonardo DiCaprio, with costar Djimon Hounsou was nominated for his role in Blood Diamond." 
"Dreamgirls," starring Anika Noni Rose, Beyonce Knowles and Jennifer Hudson, was nominated as best comedy or musical movie; Knowles and Hudson also received acting nominations. 
Will Smith, starring with his real-life son Jaden Christopher Syre Smith, was nominated for his performance in "The Pursuit of Happyness." (Great story, must watch!) 
"Little Children," starring Patrick Wilson and Kate Winslet, was nominated for best dramatic picture. Winslet was also nominated. (I haven't seen this movie, but I read part of the book, something about suburban angst, marital problems of suburban mothers and fathers with young children... Ahhh) 
The controversial comedy 'Borat' was nominated, as was star Sacha Baron Cohen. (Speechless...) 
Meryl Streep's performance in "The Devil Wears Prada" earned her a nomination. (Totally Not Fair!!! Even though she's amazing in this movie, but I just don't like the idea of her getting any nominations)
Penelope Cruz as Raimunda, and Carmen Maura as grandmother Irene, star in "Volver." Cruz and the film were nominated. 
Sarah Paulson's portrayal of Harriet Hayes on TV's "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," earned her an acting nomination. (Sarah Paulson... UGH... Yuck!!!) 
TV series "Ugly Betty" was nominated, as was star America Ferrera.
Jack Nicholson's daughter Lorraine Nicholson, 16, will be the Miss Golden Globe (who assists in the Golden Globes ceremony, is the daughter of a well-known celebrity) this year. 
And Warren Beatty will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award.

(这是续 Harry Potter 后新起的又一本幻想童话的小说系列之一)。谁能想到这位作者竟是一个才19岁 (写这本书时才15) 从小就只有受过家教的小男生？因为根据书改编的电影 
就要上映了 (小男主角很英俊噢)，所以借了这本书看。但是当时看了几行我就要打呼了，好像古书 The Lord of the Rings 或是中国的武侠小说一样。一般和现代生活完全没有联系的故事我都一读就晕 
，不过现在想到作者才只有19岁，我就感觉很敬佩也很 inspired, 决定要硬着头皮读出来。努力呀。。。。。。
